How to read reviewed evidence on a Specialist profile

What reviewed evidence does

Tax Advisor Index uses public-safe sources to support factual profile content such as professional identity, Firm association, Specialty focus, services, credentials, publications, speaking, and other relevant work. A public support summary should name the particular fact or area of experience the source helps establish.

The review is claim-specific. A source that confirms a credential does not automatically establish experience with every service offered by the Firm. A Firm service page may describe Firm capability without proving that each listed Specialist personally performs that work.

Why source type and specificity matter

Direct professional evidence, substantive authored material, and attributable speaking or teaching generally provide more context than a generic directory listing. Independent coverage can add useful corroboration, while an official profile often remains the clearest source for current role and Firm association.

No single source type is automatically decisive. The strongest reading comes from several consistent, attributable sources whose claims match the visible profile.

• Does the source identify the same Specialist and Firm?
• Does it support the exact claim shown on the profile?
• Is the source current enough for the fact involved?
• Can a prospective client open and understand it?

Use review dates as context

Some facts age faster than others. A current Firm role, public contact path, service offering, or availability can change quickly. A completed publication or recorded presentation may remain useful evidence of prior professional activity even when it is older.

The profile’s last-reviewed date shows when Tax Advisor Index most recently evaluated its public information. It is a freshness signal, not a statement that every underlying source was published on that date.

Understand the limits of Authority Status

Authority Status summarizes reviewed professional evidence within a Specialty. It is independent of membership and Sponsored Placement. Payment cannot create or raise it.

Authority Status is not licensure verification, certification, endorsement, a client satisfaction score, or a prediction of results. Confirm credentials, engagement terms, availability, and suitability directly before retaining a Firm or Specialist.
